Ben Folds Five - Erase Me
Ben Folds Five is coming back with their first album in 13 years, releasing their first single this week, entitled Erase Me. The song, off the upcoming album The Song of the Life of the Mind, brings back all the great elements that Ben Folds Five brought. It has a quiet, foreboding piano line that transitions to pure schizophrenia toward the end; it has the always fabulous voice of Ben Folds along with soothing background vocals; The drums on the track are loud and in your face; and most importantly, it is catchy as all fuck!

Band of Horses - Slow Cruel Hands of Time
Seattle natives Band of Horses released their second single from their new album Mirage Rock this week, entitled Slow Cruel Hands of Time. The new album will be their fourth studio LP. Slow Cruel Hands of Time is a delicate song that is much more subdued than their first single, Knock Knock. It has a soft, steady beat throughout, with some great guitar work by the band. Lead singer Ben Bridwells voice sounds Sam Beam-esque (Iron & Wine), lending a very calm vibe to the track.
I hadnt known about this band before this track and this song was a great introduction. Needless to say, I will be looking for them in the future.

Kanye West & Jay-Z Feat. Big Sean - Clique
The Kanye West-spearheaded G.O.O.D. Music album Cruel Summer will drop soon, but the single for the new collaboration just dropped this week. The single, entitled Clique, reunites West and Jay-Z with Hit Boy, who produced Niggas in Paradise, and it features Big Sean. The track features a dope beat backed by some sick strings parts that come in mostly during the chorus. It features some great rapping by all three artists and will likely get fans of the genre excited for the new album.
I dont usually get into rap that often, but I really dug this song. The beat is simple but elegant and the amount of talent on the track is truly impressive. If all of the songs on the new album are like this one, it will be quite a record.
