subject: New Music Videos [print this page] This week was huge for video releases and the album release list was just as full. While there were tons of videos released this week, I have parsed out the list into just three videos that were the best of the best this week. Check out my list below including Ben Folds Five, Green Day and the Corin Tucker Band.
Ben Folds Five - Do it Anyway
Fans of Ben Folds Five and Fraggle Rock rejoiced this week when the band released its music video for their song Do it anyway off of their new album The Sound of the Life of the Mind. The video features the Jim Henson puppets from the hit TV show Fraggle Rock, a show anyone 20 years and older should remember with fondness. In the video, the little Muppets emerge from their Fraggle caves to find the band in the studio. As the producer objects violently from behind the glass, the Fraggles join the band on the catchy song, dancing and laughing, singing Do it anyway! Eventually even joins in the singing at the end, but reveals he does not even know how to use the recording equipment and did not record the last take. The video stars Rob Corddry, Anna Kendrick & Chris Hardwick. There is even a clip at the end of Ben Folds and the stars performing their rendition of the classic theme song Awesome Just Awesome.
Green Day - Oh Love
A slow rocker, hot women, nudity and a chorus that just begs the listener to sing along. What could be a better combination that that? That was obviously what Green Day was thinking when they released their music video for their single Oh Love, off of their new album Uno!. The album releases on Tuesday, September 25, and will be the first in a trilogy of albums (Dos! and Tr! release on November 13, 2012, and January 15 respectively). The music video was released in collaboration with Playboy (who supplied the hot women) so it goes without saying that the video is Not Safe for Work! The band performs their song in a warehouse-looking building as scantily-clad women lie around smoking, drinking and just looking sexy. The band flirts with the girls as they play and as the song culminates in the roaring guitar solo near the end and the final choruses, viewers get to see more skin as the girls loosen their tops.If you like Green Day, hot women and good music, you will enjoy this video. Just, please watch it in a reasonable and suitable location!
Corin Tucker Band Neskowin
The Corin Tucker Band just released their new album Kill My Blues this week, and with it comes a great new music video for their song Neskowin. The song is an upbeat, funky 80s style rocker with some great vocals from Tucker. The video for the track follows a young girl growing up in the 80s that is dealing with the transition from childhood to adulthood. She skips out on a family trip to instead hit the town with her friend, dressed in fashionable clothing and wearing way too much makeup. They run around town, get picked up by hippies in a van, go to the arcade, get in a fight and finally run into a theater where the Corin Tucker Band is playing. They join them onstage for the finale, as the camera flashes back to the girl in bed who has her Snow White book on her lap, signifying she has let go of her childhood. The video is has a nice vintage feel that I really enjoyed and the song is killer. Check it out here!
