subject: Tips For Cleaning Your Air Conditioners [print this page]

Air is one of the most important sustainers of our life. We cant imagine reaching 5 minutes alive without air. Yet, due to it being plenty, we often overlook its importance. However, those who know this importance cannot ignore the significance of having quality air for their lungs. Air conditioners are not only good for our fresh air, but also good for our lungs.

Air conditioners are like an external nasal system. They help trap off unwanted particles and condition the air to give it the degree of warmth our lungs require. Due to trapped particles and its warm condition, air conditioner can become a fertile breeding ground for germs. Therefore, it is not only important to clean your air conditioner (aircon) regularly but ensure that it is actually clean.

The following are some tips on how to clean air conditioner;

Get the aircon cleaning kit

Turn off the aircon

Slide an aircon dust bag behind the aircon unit

Turn on the spray coil

Use aircon cleaning spray by spraying the aircon window

Use rapid spraying on rotor blades as the spray pressure helps in turning the rotor blades which ensures all-round cleaning of the blades

Once the spray solution is finished from the spray container, fill it with water

Use the spray can filled with water to flush off the spray solution and dirt out into the aircon bag

Once the aircon is clean, turn on the aircon letting it to eject out water spray into the aircon bag

Once there is no more water spraying out of the aircon, gradually open the aircon bag as you wipe dry the exposed body

Remove the aircon bag once completed wipe drying

Empty the aircon bag

These air conditioner cleaning tips apply to all air conditioners including window air conditioner cleaning. However, due to its exposure to external dust, window air conditioner may have dust, stubborn stains and extreme dryness which may require you to use more than one can of spray solution.

For your own safety when cleaning air conditioners, ensure that you;

have quality kits from reputable suppliers such as Concaire

put on a apron to avoid your nice clothes being accidentally stained

put on gloves, especially plastic gloves for insulation purposes

put on rubber shoes or gumboots to avoid accidental sliding

turn off the air condition before you start spray cleaning

wear gas mask to save yourself from unlikely allergic reaction to spray fumes

dispose of the waste water from the cleaning activity as the solution contains chemicals

if you do have allergies, do not be the first to do the spraying, let someone spray as you watch from a safer distance as you gauge your likely reaction from the spray

All these tips and precautions will help make cleaning air conditioners not only a wonderful experience but also a safe one for you.
