subject: How To Find A Shoe To Fit Your Feet & Style [print this page]

Finding the ideal shoes is problematic to say the least. Even if you do find that killer pair in a colour and design that you absolutely adore, chances are that they wont have it in your size or, worse still, your width. Indeed, one of the major problems facing women is that they often find that the width of their feet doesnt necessarily correspond to the preordained lengths that manufacturers work. In such circumstances, there is very little that you can do except to get a size that fits the length of your feet and then use a pair of insoles to pad out the shoes so that your feet dont rub against the sides.

But leaving aside such quotidian issues as size, the most important factor in shoes is that ineffable sense of style that appeals directly to you. A good pair of shoes should work on all levels, giving you great poise, confidence, verve and panache. More importantly perhaps, you want to find a pair that work perfectly with your outfit and complement the shape and colour of your clothes.

Start by looking at the outfit that you want to wear your new shoes with and try to gauge the overall effect with your proposed new shoes. Height is the most central issue here and you should ensure that the heel of your shoes puts you in perfect proportion to the dimensions of your dress. In relation to these proportions, you should also consider how the width, depth and overall design of the shoes work. A tall pair of thin stilettos will work wonderfully with a long and elegant dress, but perhaps not so well with a less formal ensemble. Equally, if you're going to be wearing a business outfit including jacket and pencil skirt, you might want to find a smart pair of court shoes to complement the lateral lines of that type of outfit.

Finding shoes is now a lot easier thanks to internet shopping. The wide range of styles and designs means that finding what you want is as easy as browsing through a few good quality shopping websites. Gone are the days when you would have to spend hours trudging around the High Street, trying to find the ideal style that you want. The great thing about shopping online is also that you can easily return items that you dont like without wasting more time heading back to the store.
