The brown color of the grain indicates its greater nutritional values than that of white one. Rice is considered as cash crop in Pakistan because of its value to raise more money for the grower. In the recession stricken globe the price of this commodity is also on decline. But in the country the rate is higher and observing the same trend. The inflation of inputs in the local market and scarcity of water availability in canal irrigated areas has made it harder for the grower to decide in favor of rice when planning to cultivate a crop. The abolishment of the ban on Indian Rice export further drags the rice exporters of the country in the troubled waters. Pakistan has set a target of 3 million ton export this year which will not likely to be achieved specially due to the ban on export to the neighboring country Iran.
