subject: How Print Ads Can Help Your Business [print this page] Print advertising used to be the big thingPrint advertising used to be the big thing. It was always fun to see the new ads in a magazine or in the Sunday paper. Over the years, however, print ad buying has slowed down considerably. Instead, companies are opting for technology-driven ads that you either scan a special bar code with your Android phone or they just simply put their ads online. You really can't go to any website without seeing ads for various products and, thanks to the harmless tracking cookies online, once you visit certain company websites or search for certain things, you will ads for those products pop up on every webpage you visit that has ads.
The question is, however, does print ad buying still make sense for a company? There is no denying that print is far from dead, no matter what mainstream media is trying to sell to the world. Until the day when computers and Internet service is free, there will continue to be print media. And with that print media, there will need to be advertisements so that the publisher can afford to produce that print media. It does not take a genius to see that there is still significant revenue potential for businesses with doing print advertisements.
Advertising executives would say that the point of advertising is to reach the widest audience possible. This is true, but why limit your company to advertising in one medium? Print ad buying is the perfect complement to your digital and television ads because people will see your company in more ways than just one. They will see your ad in the magazine, then see your commercial on television, and then decide to see what your products are all about. Since companies are all about profits, it just makes sense that a company would want to maximize their advertising to take advantage of every market out there.
No matter what the advertising executive says, there is still some benefit from print ad buying. If nothing else, it will at least cause consumers to be more aware of your company and your products or services. The only bad form of advertising is not advertising at all, so do not buy into what the agency tries to sell you with going strictly digital with your ads. That would be a major mistake to make in regards to advertising, and one that your company possibly can't afford to make.
