At the moment if you are having aggressive cat behaviour then I might be able to give you a hand Where I live I have a couple of cats and out of the blue one day they started being strange and showing aggressive cat behaviour I did not have a clue at the start what made them like this so went and investigated. Here is what I found out and my top tips for aggressive cat behaviour. Get It Sorted Quickly - The thing is with aggressive cat behaviour is that there is obviously a problem somewhere in the home that the cats are not happy with. You have to sort this as quickly as possible or it will just give you more annoyance further down the road. It's one of those things that just builds up and if you get it done with it will pay for itself really quickly. What's The Next Step? - Animals and especially aggressive cats are very territorial and like a consistent environment in which to live. Think to yourself what has changed in the house recently? What could be contributing to the stress? I find things like moving furniture around too much or a stressful environment can actually rub off on the cats. Have you changed the brand of food that they eat? Is there a new cat in the neighbourhood bullying them? Experiment by returning these things to normal and checking back in a few weeks to see if the cats have become normal again. The Principle Of Pain And Pleasure - On the flip side you also want to let your cats know that this aggressive behaviour is unacceptable.. What you need to do is use the carrot and stick or what is more commonly known as the pain and pleasure principle. As soon as your cat starts showing aggressive behaviour you have to reprimand it. If you get a water bottle and squirt the cat or smack a couple of pots together or shout the cat will become startled What I find to be of utmost importance is that your aggressive cat can't see you banging the pots or however you punish them because they will know it is you doing it. You want them to behave not aggressively with everyone, not just you. On the pleasure side of things you have to reward not aggressive behaviour. If your cats are behaving in a good manner then treat them in the way you know they like to be treated. This can be stroking or a food treat for example. Or maybe even a new toy. No cat is the same. Just make sure you reward them straight away after good behaviour or after a day of good behaviour.. If you keep up this routine your cat will learn in its mind that aggressive behaviour will not give it what it wants. What is the harm in giving it a go?. What's the worse that could happen?
