It is the 1,600 crore project of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and was executed by Hindustan Construction Company. The sea link is so beautiful and many tourists visit this place. The Kanpur over bridge is the longest bridge in Asia; it covers a distance of 25 km. It took so much of time to be completed. The Howrah Bridge in Kolkata is situated on the Hooghly River. It is the largest cantilever bridge in India. The Howrah Bridge connects Kolkata and Howrah. On 14 June 1965, it was renamed Rabindra Setu, after Rabindranath Tagore, first Indian Nobel laureate.
The Coronation Bridge, also known as the Sevoke Bridge, in Darjeeling spans across the Teesta River, connecting Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri is situated in west Bengal. As its name suggests, West Bengal's Coronation Bridge dating back to 1930, commemorates the coronation of Britain's King George V. India was under British rule at the time, and the bridge is a noted example of the best of British design and craftsmanship. Coronation Bridge is among the visitor attractions on the outskirts of the city of Siliguri, situated in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas and the gateway to northeastern India. The Vembanad rail bridge is the longest rail bridge in India. It is used only for carrying goods.
The Naini Bridge over Yamuna River is one of the largest cable-stayed bridges in India, connecting Allahabad with Naini. Godavari Rail Bridge is the longest bridge in Andhra Pradesh. It is Asia's second longest road-cum-rail bridge crossing a water body, after Japan's Kansai International Airport Sky Gate. The Vidyasagar setu connects Howrah to Kolkata. It is the longest cable-stayed bridge in India and one of the longest in Asia, at a total length of 822.96 m. After the Bandra-Worli sea link, Pamban Bridge is the second longest sea bridge in India at a length of about 2.3 km. This also has the distinction of being India's first sea bridge. A cantilever bridge on the Palk Strait, it connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to mainland India.
