I think that weve all heard the horror stories of bad customer service in the whole state of Florida. I dont know if its because businesses think that they can take advantage of seniors, or if theyre just incompetent, but everyone that lives here has at least one story. One person had their furniture delayed no less than 6 times, and finally got it delivered 2 months late, and it was damaged. Another person had to wait to get a refund of their cancelled order for almost 4 months. Delivery time frames are ignored, people are rude, and no one seems to care. Thats why when I went out to purchase a mattress in Florida, I came with the lowest expectations, and knew that everything was going to get messed up.

Im a senior, but Im in no way stupid. I do not have dementia, I am not forgetful, and I dont just lay down and let people run me over. My money is as important as anyone elses, and I expect good service and a good product. Now I understand that you cant fault a retailer for the manufacturers bad product quality, but stores shouldnt sell bad products either.

At first I skipped the Florida mattress stores, you know, the local ones that are locally owned. They are usually smaller, and I thought that I would get better service and selection from a national retailer. WellI was wrong. The national store was more expensive, their employees didnt care about me or my back and all their beds felt the same. They had a color coding system, which made it easy to navigate the store by myself, but I really wanted more interaction from the salesperson.

So I went to the local place, which I had skipped previously. Yeah, it was a little smaller, and didnt have all the frills that the national store had. But frankly, I dont need 48 month financing, and I dont care about the brand of the mattress as long as its solidly built. The salesperson at the local store asked me a bunch of questions, and recommended that I look at an electric bed. Apparently, they help with circulation (I am diabetic), lower back pain (which I have), and can eliminate pressure points (my wife has fibromyalgia). Who knew there were so many adjustable bed mattresses in Florida! I found exactly what I wanted, and was comfortable on the bed, and with the price. And heres the kicker they were on time for the delivery, and it was made on the day that they promised!

So if youre looking to make a big purchase in Florida be it furniture, bedding, cars, electronics, etc., dont skip the local guy. They will do way more for you than the national giant. Oh, and if youre just looking for mattress stores in Florida, check out DrSnooze.com. They have local stores, and theyre from right here in Florida. And they did right by me.
