The ball started to roll with Samsung launching its much awaited Galaxy Note II and Windows Phone 8(WP8) which is powered by ATIV S. Also, Nokia pitching in with 2 WP8 powered Lumina 920 and 820 juggernauts. Sony mobile introducing a pack of Xperia devices which includes a tablet and Xperia XT measuring 4.5-inch. LG is showcasing the Optimus VuII and quad-core powerhouse with LG optimus G. Now it's Apple chance, they are giving their smartphone an upgradation.

Apple has decided to hold the media event on the 12th Septmeber. Previously it was rumoured to be launched alongside with the new iPhone, the iPad Mini which is now supposed to be launched at a separate event in October. Most of the major mobile device vendors have made announcements of their upcoming device before Apple's launching of new gem. The next generation iPhone is most likely the iPhone 5 which moves from its traditional 3.5-inch screen size form factor and moves into 4.0-inch and beyond territory.

The next generation iPhone 5 is said to comeup with LTE connectivity with no word on the frequency band, the new iPhone will be using for LTE support. This won't share the same problem as the new iPad uses the 700MHz and 2100MHz spectrum which is in countries such as Singapore. Both the routers and TechCrunch which have confirmed that Apple's next generation iPhone which will definitely drop the bigger 30-pin dock connector and the advanced 3.5mm audio jack. The iPhone is said to come up with a stylish nano SIM tray instead of sleek micro SIM variation. This micro SIM is said to be 40 percentage lower than that of the current smallest SIM card design which allow manufacturers like Apple to make smaller and thinner smartphones.

The iphone is not only the iOS device which gets special attention of course and the rumoured iPad mini has got quite a fair amount of speculation on its end. Many conflicting reports about its form factor with earlier reports pointing to 7.1 and 7.85-inch form factors. The scaled down 7+inch tablet is priced between a competitive price rates. These will feature a design quite like the iPod touch. They do not rule out the various possibility that the iPad mini might make it appearance on the 12th September. The Apple will only introduce its smaller tablet category during the first or second week of October. The device will take a leaf out of the famous iPhone 4S as its internals will be based on it.
