Philips announced several new audio products at IFA 2012. The new products include Philips Fidelio P8 and P9 Portable Speakers, Philips Fidelio Primo Docking Station and Philips Fidelio 5.1 Surround Sound System HTB9550. Philips has unveiled 2 new portable speakers as part of its Fidelio range. The speakers consist of the P8 and P9 Fidelio Portable Speakers. Made from a combination of metal and wood, both speakers use woofer drivers and Philips' wOOx technologies. However, the P9 got better of the P8 with its cross-over filter. This makes sure that low and mid tones are played through the woofers, when a high frequency audio is filtered through the soft dome tweeters for a more clear sound. The Philips P9 comes with a leather cover, which can be tilted to alter the sound, and if you close it completely, the speakers will get turned off.

Both the Philips P8 and P9 speakers are consistent with other Bluetooth devices. Users can also plug in their smartphones through the USB port for receiving a boost to their handset's battery. It is powered by a li-ion battery. As per Philips, you can expect eight hours of music playback and you can see the battery levels via a touch sensor.

The significant change is that the device now have AirPlay technology. Moreover, the bass reflex ports are also redesigned to better deliver the lower frequencies. The updated version adds another element to Philips' already impressive AirPlay speaker range. What Philips have added to make the experience even better, apart from AirPlay streaming, is the addition of biamping of the speakers, a new digital crossover, and a newly designed bass port. Moreover, everyone will surely love the premium design in natural wood, fabric and metal.

The Fidelio range sprawls over to brand-new audio categories with the Philips Fidelio 5.1 Surround Sound System HTB9550. It comes with 360degree sound. The 5.1 system with Immersive Sound technology will fill your entire room with with tones and sounds from any angle. The system boasts a high quality design. Those people, who want to remain in contact of friends and family, are offered video calling on Skype.
