subject: Ford Focus 1.6 16v Futura (2005) [print this page] The new Focus will not this time for a new design revolution. Like its predecessor, however, this Focus has also an excellent road handling and ergonomics are good for each other. The coupe does take shape in space.
Ford made the first Focus for a landslide. The bold New Edge styling s deterred the buyers in the least, judging by the beautiful place of the Focus on the sales rankings.
But how do you find that success without losing your extremities and in the honorable clientele deter? The Ford Focus took an unusually keen car driving down a prime chassis and ditto handling. Externally, the new Focus still recognizable as a Focus. The coach will now be a lot more dynamic. The butt is slanted off and the windscreen lies flatter. The falling roofline and flush rear window while creating the desired Ford coupe form, but the design requires its toll in the interior. Adults must soon bow their heads in the back seat of the Focus.
First-rate ergonomics
Aboard the Focus everything looks calmer than before. Gone are the busy New Edge lines, which gave the dashboard a cluttered appearance. What remains is the excellent ergonomics. All controls are easily accessible and sit where you would expect. The materials are beautiful and durable look out. In the center console, the audio system a prominent place. Chrome colored buttons give the console a high-tech look. The knob for volume control in the middle looks impressive, but it appears somewhat fragile to the touch. Among the audio system there are three rather old-fashioned-looking knobs for controlling ventilation and airflow. The controls are dated by their appearance in stark contrast with the modern audio-ranging cluster. They work, however, no less. The middle knob lets you adjust the temperature. That happens a bit on the gamble by using the wheel to vary between the three surfaces of the scale, cold, medium and hot.
Sharp
The test car has a sixteen engine under the hood. The Focus puts a big mouth. That is initially not directly, but the sound level meter is relentless. The Focus has the same basic design of the chassis as its predecessor. Ford, however, has larger front and rear dampers mounted in their own words refined.
The Focus is largely neutral, and as he inadvertently begins to slide because it's all a bit too hard, then the whole thing is easy to catch. Not least because the steering is razor sharp and direct commands from the driver to follow.
The Focus is fairly stiff but not hard. On pockmarked asphalt there is some rattling from the suspension can be observed indicating that the side stand all the stops to bumps and potholes to process. But we must not forget Focus is a First Edition, a limited edition Ford tradition that each new model ban. The car is tuned a little harder, which is driving more feeding. The other versions of the Focus are slightly more tuned for comfort. The First Edition package includes sport seats that comprise the body well and that you really like what you send is excited with the Focus.
