subject: Why To Go For Organic Search Traffic Conversions? [print this page]

You must realize that search optimization can help you increase your traffic but does not necessarily result in increased conversions. There are a number of reasons why an organic search may not result in a conversion. However, we are not going into that now and would focus on three key steps to improve organic search traffic conversions.

Keyword Intent Matters more compared to Search Volume

It is important to identify the proper search terms that align with the activity or service that you are offering through your website. You may find a number of keywords that have high search volumes but if they are not specifically mentioning what you are offering then it would never convert.

For example, you are a provider of search engine optimization services. You find a few keywords and also have the search volumes for them. You find that the keyword SEO has the highest search volume. At this point, you must realize that SEO is a generic keyword and can be searched by someone looking to read something about SEO and not necessarily might be looking for SEO services. On the other hand, the keyword Search Engine Optimization Services has a lower search volume but is more relevant and bring traffic that is more likely to convert.

Create a Strong and Prominent Call to Action

Most of the web pages today dont have a clear call to action. They have very informative web pages but without a proper call to action, they are unable to connect the information with the service they offer.

There are different ways to present a call to action like:

-Banner at the top of the page

-Call-out box on top right of page

-Form fill on right side bar

-Video

Whatever technique you follow, you must make sure that your call to action catches attention. Create custom call to actions based on the topic of the page for better results.

Test!

Experiment and test different page designs, content layouts, fonts and calls to actions for your website. Schedule these changes and update your website. Keep your website in its new state for a while and seriously monitor traffic, bounce rate, and page views during this time. This would let you know how visitors interact with these pages and can compare it to the earlier position. You might figure out what can increase your traffic conversions.
