If you have just put up your web based business and want to get your site out there and noticed then a pay per click campaign might be a good option for you. This is a type of paid search engine optimization. There is organic search engine optimization which is just as important. The thing about organic search engine optimization is that it does take some time. Getting a new site up on the first three pages of Google takes work and time.

Both kinds of SEO is very important and to have a successful web based business you really need to do both paid and organic. While you are waiting to get your site ranked organically in Google starting a pay per click campaign is a great way to drive business to your site. One of the benefits to running a campaign is you can spend as little or as much as you want. So even if there is not much money in the budget for advertising you can still get your name out there.

The first step in starting a campaign is choosing the proper keywords. This is a very important step because if you choose keyword that are not relevant or too vague then you will end up paying more then you need to for each click. If the keyword really has no relevance to your site then you will pay a lot per click. If the keyword is too vague then you will have a lot of impressions and not a very high click thru rate. Also for example if there is a high competition for the word then you will pay more than necessary. So it is important to narrow down the search by being as precise as you can be. You will have less impression but a much higher click thru rate.

After you have narrowed down to your final keywords then you will want to start you campaign. After you have signed up for your Google Adwords account then you go in and start your ad groups. The next step is creating ads for the keywords in your ad group. You will have your title then your ad and you have a display URL and a destination URL. The display URL is obviously what people see when they are viewing your ad. The destination URL is where they will go when they click on your ad.

After you have that all set up then you can go in and set how you want your ads to be rotated. You can have them set them to how you want fast you want them shown. You can either space them out thru the day or you can have them shown quicker till you reach your daily budget.

There is a lot of control with your campaigns. Go thru and read everything before you set anything make sure it is what is best for you. Then you will learn by trial and error on what works with your campaign.
