The first reason that they are often considered for these types of positions is that people from India have a reputation for treating people with respect and being very warm and hospitable. While these qualities might not necessarily be of importance to data entry outsourcing, telemarketing call centers need people who can avoid hang ups on the other end of the phone line. Lastly, they are willing and able to work for less money than people living in the United States. This partly has to do with the fact that the cost of living is lower in India. They are able to get food, housing, and other things for much cheaper prices than is possible in the United States. Some companies take advantage of the fact that Indians will work for low wages and they pay them less money than they can afford to. Other companies pay a better than normally salary or hourly rate and provide an excellent job opportunity. Some of the reasons why people choose to outsource to India include the fact that they are known for being friendly and hospitable, they often speak English as a second language, and they are willing and able to work for less money than people living in the United States.
