Need:
Congenital defect in heart are abnormalities in the heart's structure that are present at birth. Approximately 8 out of every 1,000 newborns have congenital heart defects, which can range from mild to severe.
Congenital heart disease happen because of incomplete or abnormal development of the fetus' heart during the very early weeks of pregnancy. Some are known to be associated with genetic disorders, such as Down syndrome, but the cause of most chd heart defects is unknown. While they can't be prevented, there are many treatments for the defects and any related health problems.
Nearly 300,000 children are born every year with congenital heart problem.
Most of them die, mainly due to lack of funds.

Treatment of blue baby syndrome
Treatment depends on the etiological factor for the disorder and the intensity of clinical symptoms. Methemoglobinemia can be easily handled with medicines. Severe heart problem need specific drugs and / or heart surgery.
The treatment schedule comprises of: drugs, watchful monitoring and open heart surgery. Shunting, arterial switch operation, Fontan procedure and Damus-Kaye-Stansel technique are the commonly conducted surgeries. These are invasive heart surgeries, and are not always required.
