The Port of Hueneme will be going bananas Saturday, September 29 during the 1st Annual Port of Hueneme Banana Festival, which includes exotic banana foods, upbeat entertainment, an auto pavilion, recipe contest, a local farmers market and kids activities. Celebrating Oxnards cultural diversity, the 17th Annual Multicultural Festival takes place October 6 in downtown Oxnard and provides tons of family fun including live music, food vendors, exhibitors, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

If you are looking for a different type of movie going experience, you might consider catching a foreign film in downtown Oxnard. The Oxnard Film Society presents Monday Night Foreign Film Series the first and third Mondays of each month at the Plaza Cinemas 14 in Centennial Plaza. This September showing is horosho scheduled for Monday, September 17. The first feature-length film revolves around internationally renowned Chinese artists & activist, Ai Weiwei.
