A visit to Fifth Avenue in New York is perhaps the Mecca for fashion fans, which has some of the citys most famous names and boutiques including Saks Fifth Avenue, a department store to put others to shame! Other musts are the world famous Bloomingdales (dont leave without a little brown bag), Bergdorf Goodman (as good for couture spotting as it is shopping) and of course, you cant pass Tiffanys without wishing you were wearing your LBD and munching on a croissant. Away from Manhattan, try Brooklyn for a more hip scene where youll find one off boutiques, vintage stores and second-hand treasure. And dont be surprised if you get the urge to whip out your camera and start your own street style blog; this is, after all, the city that inspired some of the most influential street style snappers from VOGUE photographer Bill Cunningham to Scott Schuman, founder of The Sartorialist.

Fashion mavens cannot classify themselves as so until theyve visited Paris, the original city of style. Home to some of the worlds most renowned designers including of course, Coco Chanel, the City of Lights is the honey for fashionable bees everywhere. A shopping wonderland, the fashionable streets and beautiful neighbourhoods only make the style stalkers fall in love with it more in Paris you strut, you dont walk! Jeans are almost a no-no (unless fashionably ripped, bleached or the style du jour) and labels drip from the men, women and children you pass the Parisians think of fashion as an investment.

In London, anything goes! Big department stores like Harrods and Selfridges are a must visit, even if it is purely to take a look around and marvel at the store itself. Oxford Street is a well known shopping area, home to many high street flagship stores including the awe-inspiring Topshop be prepared to spend a few days here! Knightsbridge has a more luxury air to it, not just in the boutiques and stores such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods but the street style.
