GMAT Test perfectly fits in where the need of a common testing criterion to check the suitability of prospective students for admission in Management Programs coming from widely varied backgrounds arises.

GMAC, Graduate Management Admission Council, is the official organizer for GMAT Exam. GMAT contains four sections Analysis of an argument, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal.

GMAT can be taken from any of its centers which are available in almost all countries. At the centers, computer based GMAT Online Test is available and same can be taken throughout the year as per the dates available. For Registration to take GMAT Test, visit the official website, www.mba.com. The GMAT Test Fee is $250. One can retake GMAT Test once in every 31 days. In a 12 months cycle, Test can be taken a maximum of 5 times. GMAT Test Scores are valid for 5 years from the year the test is taken.

For GMAT Test, five scores are provided:

GMAT Verbal score reported on 0 - 60 scale.

GMAT Quantitative score reported on 0 - 60 scale.

Total GMAT Score ranges from 200 to 800 with an interval of 10 and is based on Verbal and Quant scores.

GMAT Analytical Writing score reported on a 0 6 scale with half point increment.

GMAT Integrated Reasoning Score on a scale of 0 - 8 with a single digit interval.

Unofficial GMAT Score is provided at the test center just after the Test, while official score including Analytical Writing and IR scores are sent after around 15 days.

For sending the GMAT Test Scores to institutes, the GMAT Fee includes sending the Score to five institutes. One can select the institutes for sending the score at the time of taking the test at the center. If you want to send score to more institutes or want to send after taking the test, then GMAC charges a fee of $28.

The maximum GMAT Score is 800. The average score of candidates in GMAT Exam is around 540. The GMAT Score of a GMAT Taker is not an absolute score but depends upon the performance of other candidates.

A GMAT score of 700+ is considered good Score in GMAT Test. Around top 6-7 % GMAT takers get this score. Only 1% of total GMAT Takers score 750+.

Although high GMAT Score does not guarantee a birth in good B-School, but an average GMAT score does strike off any possibility for the same. Not only B-Schools, but now a days even Companies while recruiting from B-Schools give preference to high GMAT scorers.
