Even if you are disabled, you can still play the sport. Its ok if you cant walk or carry your clubs, you can simply use a golf car to get you from hole to hole. If you think about how golf cars are used on the golf course, you will realize that golf cars can be used in many more situations then for simply driving around from hole to hole.
One of the greatest uses of a golf car is to taxi the elderly around. This is stated as fact with no disrespect intended. I was at a family reunion one year and the entire family (around 280 of us) wanted to take a group picture. As one can imagine, this picture was not an easy undertaking. The one spot on the campground that could fit that many people was literally on top of a hill.
For the younger cousins and grand children, this climb was easy; for the older adults, the hike was a little bit of a trek, but nothing they hadnt done before. However, there was no way that the oldest people in my family were going to get to the top of the hill by their own power. There was a bit of a dilemma of how we were going to get my grand parents up this hill. At that moment, the camp director pulled up in a golf car. This little car was able to get my grand parents up the hill, and our 280-person picture was taken.
The golf car in this case had two different uses: the first use that it had was to taxi around the elderly, and the second use was to get around the campsite quickly. This campsite was incredibly big, so walking from one cabin to the next (if you are simply doing rounds and checking up on your guests) isnt an option. The golf car was also used when we started to pack up our luggage back to our cars when the reunion was over. Somebody had brought a drum set, so packing that on trolley behind the golf car was a great idea.
Another place that golf cars are common are on college campuses. The public college I attend houses 50,000 people (both staff and students) meaning that getting from one place to another by foot will take a long time. Ive seen many all-star high school athletes getting private tours of the campus via golf car. If one sees a golf car going around campus, which usually means that someone is getting a private tour.
Another popular place that golf cars are used are in retirement home complexes. These places are usually big enough that walking isnt an option, and a car is simply too big of an option. A golf car is ideal. Although I have seen rows and rows of golf cars in golf courses everywhere, I see them most often when Im not at a golf course. Golf cars are more convenient off the golf course then on.
