Henry Abbott was sitting on his front deck enjoying lunch in the spring sun. His companion Seymour was set for some scraps that might appear his way. A Skylark on the veranda expressed its joy, being warmed by the spring sunlight. Suddenly a deep sound from the Titanic's whistle crushed the subtle sounds of nature as The Titanic departed from Southampton for the open sea. Henry picked up his binoculars and watched as The Titanic faded into the horizon. It was her "u revoir".

TITANIC PICTURES - TITANIC DEPARTURE canvas giclee is a good illustration of James Lumbers memory style of painting. His approach of painting produced international appreciation to Lumbers. It all began on an island in Georgian Bay. Having sketched the terrace of an abandoned house, he located a diary with old images under a floorboard. The diary described the images taken in 1913 from the identical location as the sketch was done. Afterward turned into a painting, it seemed compelling to supplement the people as ghostly figures of ancient times with the terrace of the current day. This painting progressed into a career that has spanned over 35 years producing "Moments in Time". Lumbers strong sense of Canadian History is mirrored in much of his paintings. TITANIC DEPARTURE painting is a new release for the Titanic100th Aniversary.
