subject: Mumbai Or Kerala The Choice Is Yours! [print this page]

There are two types of peopleThere are two types of people. One type of people loves the hustle and bustle of city life and others who just prefer enjoying the serenity of nature. While the former type likes the exuberance of lavish hotels, the latter prefer a small country house located in a calm corner.

Depending on the type of person you are, there are two different types of holiday destinations to be considered. The first holiday destination we are going to talk about is Navi Mumbai. Competing with Hollywood in terms of popularity and revenue grossed, Bollywood is the dream destination of so many youngsters belonging to different parts of India and Mumbai is the place where dreams come true.

Spotting a celebrity from behind a tinted Audi window is a sight commonplace. Mumbai has a unique vibe and a culture that has been developed over decades. Being the commercial capital of the country, foreign influx is also very high and their appetite is whetted by the monuments erected by the British ages ago. The street food and street shopping provides the essential Indian-ness whereas the luxurious hotels in Navi Mumbai provide the required class and standard to cater to the foreigners and the elite business group. And as always, these sumptuous hotels are never short of surprises and neither do they fall behind in catering to the means to pamper oneself. The greater joy experienced while gazing at Mumbai Sea from the towering hotel window cannot be explained in words. It has to be experienced!

In stark contrast is Kerala, a state which has achieved almost 100% literacy rate but with the humility of the oak. Kerala backwater houseboats that provide a scenic experience to the weary soul, green palms and mangroves that manifest in lush Earth. A calm environment that will allow a person to listen to the crickets grating in the rosebushes is the signature of this place. With Kerala being famous for Ayurveda, a holistic vacation is on the cards. The Tourism Board of India has popularized Kerala as Gods own country and nothing could be truer. While nature has bestowed this land with soul soothing grace, modern developments have bestowed this place with luxurious facilities like high-end resorts and spas that pamper the material instincts of a person.

The luxury resorts in Kerala are no less than the towering hotels in metropolitan cities. An added attraction in Kerala is the houseboat. You can stay in the houseboats for a few days for a trip down the backwaters right into the distributaries and back.

Both the tourist destinations are contrasting but worth visiting. Have you made your mind? Keep thinking as it is not so easy to decide!
