subject: The Journey Full Of Adventures [print this page] This was my latest journey with my two friends, journey to Leh and Ladakh. This journey was full of adventures, on the name of reservations we had only booked a flight from New Delhi to Leh that is it, we have not booked any hotels, we had not thought about our meals i.e breakfast, lunch and dinner, we just boarded our flight and reached Leh. We were young people so we did not thought of anything.
It was 4th August 2012; we had a flight from New Delhi domestic airport at 06:35 hrs. Three of us boarded our flight and were super excited about the tour. At around 08:30 hrs are flight landed on the Leh airport, I must tell this was my most dangerous and the best landing in the plane which I had observed till now, the pilot tilted the plane on to the left while landing due to mountain ranges, it was really the best landing. Coming out of the airport we hired a taxi for searching a hotel. I must tell you there was a huge variety in hotels, there were budget hotels, cheap hotels rating from 2 star hotels to 3 star hotels up to 5 star hotels, even there were serviced apartments and guesthouses, for luxuries and all amenities like AC and Wi-Fi there were good hotels and resorts, even there were houseboats though there are n number of lakes.
The next day we started our sightseeing, we were young though we were much interested in adventure tours. We hired two motorbikes and decided to explore the city as well as the surroundings. I was very much fond of riding a cruiser bike so I went for Royal Enfield and one of my friends was very much fond of dirt bikes so he opted for it. Most of the people were doing camping over there, at a regular distance you can figure out the camps over there, which were of the local people and the tourists can hire it at an affordable price. When we were exploring the city we came to know an unknown fact that Leh is the second largest district in India after Kutch, Gujarat in terms of area. By exploring the city only our second day comes to an end, there was too much military forces deployed in the city as well as on outers.
Next day morning we decided to visit lakes, we heard that there are many lakes over there. We visited many lakes over there, but the best was Pangong Tso Lake which was 160 km away from the city of Leh. 60% of the lake lies in china and in winters these lakes used to freeze. We also visited the lake which was shown in the super hit bollywood movie, 3 Idiots. The scene was really awesome. We spent our whole day in lakes only. Then on fourth day we decided to move to Manali via cab. After reaching Manali we stayed a night over there and the next morning we got a Volvo bus for New Delhi which took around 14 hrs to reach New Delhi. After coming to New Delhi we came to our town, so this was our journey and really it was full of adventures.
