subject: The Scenic Halong Bay Tours [print this page]

Halong Bay is one of the most famous bays in Vietnam, with a natural scenic climate as well as some truly exciting tourist attractions. One of the main attractions that you are likely to come across while on Halong tours is the islands on the Halong Bay. The islands are mainly made of limestone and schist with some lying in two main areas including the southeastern part as well as the southwestern part. These islands are a geographical representation of the tectonic age from 250 280 million years ago.

One such famous island during the Halong tours is the Ba Trai Dao Island, which consists of three small mountains each with a height of about 23 m, which resembles three peaches. The island draws its name from a legend between a fairy and a young and poor fisherman. The fairy fell in love with the poor fisherman and stole three peaches from heaven and brought it to the young man so that he could eat and live forever loving the fairy.

Discovering the theft, the king of heaven turned the three peaches into large stones. Having been chastised, the young fairy had to return home. Today, the island is a famous attraction with three beaches as well as a romantic landscape. This and more stories can be given on Halong Bay tour cruises.

When you take Halong tours, you will discover that the landscape is naturally made up of limestone rocks and plenty of caves. One such case is the Sung Grotto cave located at the center of the Bo Hon Island. The path to the cave is steep but lined with shady trees to offer comfort for those on Halong tours. The cave is made up of two chambers. The outer chamber resembles a square that looks like a waiting chamber; the ceiling of the cave is 30 m high. The walls of the cave are smooth and generate a variety of colors that blend well with the setting of the cave.

The inner chamber is known as the serene castle and the path to the chamber is approximately three meters wide. The formations in the inner chambers resemble sentries having a conversation. There is a side entrance, which is 6 m in height, the light that is reflected from the waters give the inner chambers a surprising allure that makes the formations come alive. This is probably why the cave derived its name as a place where visitors on Halong cruises got awe struck by the light and formations.

The chamber in the inner chambers is so large that it can accommodate thousands of people at a time especially those on Halong Bay trips. Groups of monkeys may arrive in the inner chambers near the royal ponds as they come in search of food. The royal garden is a famous stop when on the Halong tours.

According to a tour guide on Halong tours, the name Halong means where the dragon descends into the sea. This translated can mean a land of beaches. Tuan Chau is one of the most famous tourist beaches. It is an artificial beach spanning over 3kms and is only 8kms away from the Bai Chay tourist wharf. Some of the recreational facilities available on the beach include camping, climbing, sightseeing, sports activities as well as entertainment. When you take Halong tours, you will be able to open up your world to creative facilities.
