subject: In Preparation For Above Ground Pools [print this page]

Oh sure. The day that your above ground pool is filled will definitely be a good day. However; is it all just as easy as that? For instance, is there things that homeowners can do now in preparation for the the first day of above ground pools. Things that will not only make it easier but also help to increase the fun factor.

You bet there is. You see there are several things to consider beforehand and the sooner you knock them out beforehand, the better off you'll be. The day your pool is filled should be a day of fun, not a day of running around picking up loose ends.

As an example, take the time to rake and pick up as much of the leaf and lawn debris that you can in your backyard. Then you will also want to consider trimming back any excessive shrubbery. Bear in mind that all that you leave, will in time, quite possibly end up in your pool.

You also need to go around the perimeter of your fence and make sure that it's secure and intact. Kids are like monkeys, so check for areas that they can climb under or even tree branches that will give them access over your fence. Lastly, make sure that the latch on your gate is running smoothly.

The time to stock up on pool toys is before the pool is filled. You see, all the best and the least expensive pool toys are available online, so it takes about a week or so for them to arrive. Get them now and they're ready on day one. Also remove any toys from the backyard that you don't want in your pool. Kids will take the darnedest items in the water.
