subject: E-cigs Might Just Improve Your Social Life [print this page]

Bars and restaurants used to be welcoming places for smokers, but thanks to continued bans and other legislation, now these places make users of traditional cigarettes feel ostracized. While you can no longer enjoy a smoke with your beer, though, you may still be able to get that same satisfying sensation from an e-cig.

It is important to note that e-cigs are already banned from public use in a few places, and that elsewhere the owners of specific venues may allow or prohibit e-cig use at their own discretion.

Even with these limitations, though, electronic cigarettes are far more welcome than traditional ones, and being able to get that nicotine fix in a bar or immediately after dinner is only one way that e-cigs fit into your social life far better than traditional cigarettes ever did.

E-cig Users Do not Have the Same Dating Restrictions

It is kind of a rule that smokers and non-smokers rarely date each other. Non-smokers often complain about the smell of smoke lingering on a smokers clothes and hair, and equate kissing a smoker to kissing an ashtray. If you do not smoke, the smell and flavor of traditional cigarettes is understandably unpleasant.

Unlike traditional cigarette smoke, though, e-cig vapor does not contain particles that cling to hair and clothing. It dissipates into the surrounding air without leaving a lingering odor, and since it does not contain tar and some of the nastier chemicals found in traditional cigarettes, vapor does not stain your teeth or make your breath stink.

Smokers Houses Smell Bad

It is an undeniable fact that when someone smokes inside, the furniture and carpeting absorb the odor, making the air inside the house smell stale and unpleasant. Some smokers who would otherwise have guests and host social gatherings in their homes find that non-smokers would rather not be in the presence of that particular smell.

E-cigs vapor, on the other hand, does not cling to furniture any more than it clings to clothes and hair. Smokers who felt like they could not comfortably fulfill their nicotine cravings in their own homes have switched to e-cigs and been able to finally avoid having to huddle outside in cold and rainy weather.

Unlike smokers, vapers can host parties and invite friends over for dinner in their homes without being worried about embarrassment from odors. They do not have to worry that their walls or upholstered furniture will look stained and dingy, because e-cig vapor does not contain the substances that cause white walls to turn yellow in the long-term presence of cigarette smoke.

They can also attend parties at other peoples homes without worrying about having to step outside to smoke, assuming the homeowner gives them permission to vape inside. It is much easier to convince someone to let you release water vapor into the air in their home than tar-filled smoke, though.

Just Like With Traditional Cigarettes, E-Cig Users Should Be Respectful

Smokers get a bad rap because of the smell, but also because a lot of smokers light up without asking the propertys owner if it is acceptable, not to mention leaving cigarette butts littering the ground. Not all smokers behave this way, but enough do that is has given all smokers a bad name.

Vapers can keep from getting the same reputation for disrespecting the property of others, though, by making sure to ask before taking a drag from an e-cig. If the homeowner says no, respect that, and take it outside.
