For bird watchers and ornithologists, Andaman and Nicobar islands are perfect. As far as species of birds are concerned, Megapode, pigeons, sea eagle, Dove and parakeet can be viewed. During a trip to these islands, one can also watch Water Monitor Lizard, Leatherback Turtle, Reticulate Python, Salt Water Crocodile, Sea snakes, Olive Ridley turtle and Hawk Bill Turtle. The most intriguing part of marine ecosystem is underwater wave resistant coral reefs. They are made up of sponges, mollusks, brachiopods, algae and echinoderms.

These islands are embarked with evergreen forests which have been divided into various categories. These include: Littoral forest, Cane brakes, Mangrove forest, Submontane Swamp forest, Southern Hilltop forest and Wet Bamboo brakes. Diglipur is the main town of North Andaman Island. Landfall Island is located in north of Andaman islands and Turtle Islands, Cadell Bay and Saddle Peak are the major attractions of North Andaman Island. South Andaman is considered as third biggest island. It is approximately 90 km long. M.V. Nancowry, M.V. Harshavardhana, M.V.Nicobar and M.V. Akbar are the names of ships which travel from Chennai, Vizag and Kolkata to Port Blair. Fisheries Museum is close to Andaman Water Sports Complex. Forest museum displays Gurjan, Marble, Satin Wood, Peauma and Padauk.
