subject: Outdoor Clothes That Look Stylish Exist [print this page]

When winter descends, you want to ensure that you are fully prepared for the colder months, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors. However, if you are a woman, the problem is finding an outdoor coat that looks stylish, as well as being practical and warm. Many jackets designed for fashion are far from practical, even if they are waterproof, and a lot of high-performance outdoor garments are not the type of thing that you want to be seen in should you meet friends. Synthetic materials are rarely the most stylish of materials, yet they do their job effectively and are great at keeping out the cold and the wet. But what are the options if you want to remain comfortable whilst out in the cold tundra of the countryside and do not want to sacrifice your style?

Wax jackets are one option, and are very much a staple of countryside life, where their strong yet lightweight treated cotton outer ensures that you can shelter yourself from the rain, whilst also looking good. There are a wide number of makes that create quality wax jackets. Closely aligned to wax jackets are quilted jackets and these are ideal for shorter journeys where you want something more lightweight to keep out the worst of the wind and rain. Indeed, these casual and lightweight garments have become particular popular in the past few years and have become something of a staple for a wide section of people, from the country set, to city slickers.

The famous Mackintosh is also a great choice for the countryside, although you may want to choose a more muted colour than the traditional cream. Black is a good choice and the longer length also means that you can keep trousers dry whilst traipsing through the countryside. If, on the other hand, you just want something that will keep you warm, whilst you work in the fresh air, then you should consider buying a stylish gilet. These are particularly great if you have a lot of manual work such as gardening to do as they keep out the cold without restricting your movement. Some also come with hoods, so you can keep chill winter winds at bay whilst you are walking.

If you are still stuck for choice, then why not head online and navigate to a country pursuits or outdoor shop to see what else is on offer. There are some great style choices and many of them will provide excellent protection for the elements without sacrificing fashion.
