subject: Strategies To Make Myspace Seo Friendly [print this page]

Whilst a lot of people have let their MySpace profiles fall to the wayside and gather dust, this doesnt mean that they dont have any SEO value for your businesss social networking strategy. Believe it or not, a lot of people are still using MySpace (even if you arent), but what can you do to make it more SEO friendly?

MySpace Page Name

When setting up your profile, you will be given the opportunity to choose a name for your page. You should always use your business name, regardless of how long it is, as this will make it easier for people to find you. To ensure that your SEO strategy continues to work, do not change your name once you have decided on one.

MySpace URL

Unlike some of the other social networking website that require you to have a certain number of friends before doing this, MySpace allows you to choose a customised URL from the get go. For SEO purposes, try using your business name or as closely related as you can get.

Keyword Rich Text

There are a number of areas on your MySpace profile that you can fill with content, which is hugely beneficial for including as many of your SEO keywords as you can. In the blurb section, for example, provide visitors with some information about your business and what it is you do. Dont forget to include links to your other social networking profiles, your blog and your website for a better SEO strategy.

Blogs

MySpace comes fully equipped with its own blogging section. Whilst these blogs are not as easily found as those on other websites, it can be useful to post some articles here every now and then to show your friends that youre still in operation. Write these blogs as you would other SEO content.

Picture Descriptions

Its a good idea to upload some pictures to your profile, perhaps of some of your products or events that your business has been involved in. When writing descriptions for these pictures, however, make sure that you include an SEO keyword or two and that they make sense.

Whilst it is one thing to think about setting up a MySpace profile for your business, it is another thing entirely to actually do it and begin implementing an effective SEO strategy. Take some time out of your day to do just this, and you will begin reaping the rewards of a more visible brand.
