subject: Buy A Top Quality Camping Air Mattress To Prevent Punctures [print this page]

I always remember one tenting journey that I took which, at the time seemed to be a total disaster; nevertheless, I now look back on it with great fondness.

After careful planning and packing, my 3 friends and I got in to the car and went off for the campsite. After a long and laborious 6 hours in the vehicle we arrived at our final destination. We did manage to get lost 3 times. In our defense, this was in the days before satellite navigation devices.

We arrived on the camp site. Really dark grey weather clouds loomed. Once out of the auto, the heavens opened and we got right back inside the automobile once again. We then sat inside the car for an hour waiting for the rain storm to ease, which it did not.

Following much deliberation, we decided that the rain storm had eased, I think that this was just wishful thinking as we got out from the car and within moments we were all soaking wet.

After about two hours of battling with canvas, guy ropes and tent pegs, our tent was up. It was a bit uneven, but it was up. We then had an additional battle to try and remove our wet clothes. Fortunately the site we had reserved onto included a utility room room so we could clean and dry our wet and muddied clothes.

The rain finally eased and ultimately stopped. Long enough for us to get our camping gear in to the tent, find the showers then change into some thing dry.

An hour passed, and down came the storm again. We dashed for the entertainment hall - which was comprised of a wooden shed having a small and really old table tennis table along with a few chairs. It was obvious that you had to make your own entertainment right here.

Luckily the rainfall did reduce once more which gave us an chance to construct a fire, in order to make some food. We should have bought a gas stove like a Coleman, even so, in spite of the wet setting, we had an expert fire builder and Ross was in a position to build us a amazing fire in which we made baked potatoes. I can let you know I have never ever tasted such yummy tasting baked potatoes as I did on that camping getaway.

Following inflating my camping air mattress it was evident that it had a hole. Luckily the other three mattresses were ok and had been inflated successfully. Luckily, the campsite shop offered military style camping cots for hire. I therefore, hired one of these and, to be truthful, found it quite comfortable; to the extent that I was practically grateful that my mattress had had a hole.

After a really wet and soggy week, our tent had managed to spring a leak after about day two. If we had bought a better tent as an example a Texsport or Highland we may have been saved from the uncomfortable damp.

Once home we were already arranging our next camping trip and I knew that I ought to buy a new mattress and possibly some new camping gear.
