Adobe propels the Indian market with the launch of CS6 Adobe

Systems has given a major thrust to the Indian market, with the recent launch of

its Adobe InDesign Creative Suite(CS) 6. The company has taken significant moves

to expand its market penetration, which is centric to the local market. For the

first time, it has launched an online store for the home users and announced

support for 10 Indian languages in the new version. It has also initiated three

cities road show for the end users connect. Moreover, the company has identified

specialized partners for video and educational verticals.

The Adobe road show in Delhi saw an attendance of 900 end users of Adobe.

India

said, Post the launch of CS6, we have started our outreach program through

road show and channel enablement where our APAC and Indian evangelist are

imparting knowledge to our users and partners in top A-class cities. For the

tier - 2 and 3 cities we are taking online and social media route to reach out

to our partners. We are also carrying out training and certification for our

registered and managed partners.

Subsequently the company has planned to conduct road shows in Chennai, Hyderabad

and Ahmedabad in early September. With the inclusion of 10 Indian languages

Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Oriya, Malayalam and

Kannada the company is looking to capture the regional print and publishing

industry. Their latest launch is a stepping stone towards achieving that

objective.

Another important step being taken by the company is its onlinestore (http://shop.adobe.com/in)

for the Indian market. An individual can easily buy Adobe suites of products

with billing in INR. When asked whether that will conflict its channel,

Palangala said, We dont see any overlapping and conflict. Having said that,

we have been getting request from a single user to make our products available

through online. Hence, we dont see any major bulk buying happening from this

portal. It will provide an additional mean to our users to get our products.

On the channel front, the company is scouting for specialized partners for

education
and video segment. Under the newly launched Adobe Partner Connect

(APC) program, we have identified two fast growing verticals education and

video. By having specialized partners on board we wanted to increase our focus

on the video and broadcast industry. Even our new version has made enhancement

which can be useful for any video and broadcast professional to work

efficiently, said Palangala.

From the product migration point of view, the company has announced that it will

support upgrades to only two versions Adobe CS5 and 5.5.
