subject: Cable Providers Over The Ocean [print this page]

Comcast Cable, Time Warner Cable suceeding in spite of lacking European

business.

Who could have seen this outcome? Did you know that Comcast Cable Television

Corp and Time Warner Cable Inc soared up to the very pinnacle of the S&P 500

media index as of this year, despite everyone who has desperately been

trying to predict the death of cable. For what reason?

Theres a huge point of interest for these two large companies and it's this: Comcast and Time Warner dont handle

business within Europe.

Avoiding that gigantic pitfall thats over there on the other side of the ocean is

actually pretty profitable. This makes them so much more appealing to investors,

who in these tumultuous times are desperate to avoid anything involving any of the

crap thats boiling over in Ireland, Spain, Italy and Greece.

This doesnt take into account the many hardships that cable providers are

facing, but if you listen to some portfolio managers, this is a good thing in respect to

other companies carrying out business in Europe or Latin America.

The best part for investors is that cable isnt really facing any serious hurdles.

The thought that people would switch to satellite or Netflix services is exaggerated at

best, mostly because most common citizens receive internet from the same place they can

watch those amazing Adult Swim cartoons.

Yet, despite all the scare tactics that cable naysayers are employing against the industry,

the business plan is remaining strong and changing where need be, in areas such

as TV Everywhere that assist people in gaining access to whatever they want whenever

they want, just like Hulu and Netflix attempt to do. Thats the thing about Time Warner

Cable and Comcast, not to mention Cox Cable and Charter Cable they are very intelligent.

In fact, theyre pretty smart to still be playing a game so many people think is so

dangerous. Whats really worrisome is bankrupting your country with socialist

programs and then sinking the rest of your continent because you are unable to pay

your bills. Ouch.

But remember something that Jesus showed us existing in a world with a mind full

with worry isnt going to benefit anyone. Rather than fearing the impending

collapse of Europes entire economy (which may not happen anyway) perhaps focus

on the good things in life, like your family and friends, having healthy air and

having regular access to food.

But further than that and still in relation to the cable industry, rather than cowering or

hoping that it will collapse inward on itself, think about the positive adaptations that

are waiting for you.

Mostly in part due to Google Fiber, your internet connection is proposed to double,

triple, maybe even go up faster for hundreds of times the speed you used to pay.

Plus, its likely to become vastly cheaper. Cable TV programming will one day

all be cloud based, thats for sure. But Time Warner and Comcast Cable will be just

as likely to offer that service to you, but its likely to be much cheaper than what you

normally pay.

Economies fall by the wayside, but ease of use is forever. Think about these kinds of

things and dont let worry consume your life.
