subject: 3 Proven Ways To Generate Leads For A Business [print this page]

There are many people who choose to make their money online operating an online business. Working online in the comfort of your own home is a dream for most people, and working at home is not that hard to do if you can do it. But once you've found that proven online business opportunity that is all yours, what do you next? Where do you go? How do you get people interested? There are many ways, both online and offline, but here are 3 proven ways to generate leads online and hopefully, generate the income your family deserves:

1) Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertisements. If there is a Godfather of online marketing, PPC advertising is it. PPC advertising allows you to spit out multiple ads to various websites (which usually are, and should, be a site that is relevant to your topic or business) and then you "Pay-per-click" each time a person "clicks" on your ad. The payment goes to the site that is "hosting" or helping you "spit out" your ad to other websites, and then when a person clicks on your ad, your ad (if you have it set up right) will direct them to your website or lead page. Upside - enormously productive and successful, especially if the hosting website is reputable. Downside - PPC advertising is expensive. If you get an ad posted on a well known and highly trafficked website, the clicking costs could run literally in the thousands. Be careful if you're starting up on a low budget

2) Article Marketing. This is a tried and tested way to increase traffic to a website and hopefully, turn that traffic into leads for your new business. While not as successful as PPC campaigns, it is still reliable in that everyone, or at least most everyone, has used a search engine at one point or another. Simply write an article (specifically targeted) about whatever it is that you want to promote or deal with, and submit it to an article directory website (EzineArticles and GoArticles.com are two good ones). If your article shows up on the first page of search engines, people will click on it and read what you have to say. Note - you MUST include your website somewhere in the article or doing this step is entirely useless.

3) Whatever you do, you must DO IT CONSISTENTLY. This particular number isn't an actual different method; the top two online marketing methods are detailed above. This is to serve as a reminder that what you are doing is a BUSINESS, not a JOB. At a job, no matter what you do, you get paid so long as you are there. In the world of online marketing, you can sit in front of a computer screen all you want, and if you're doing nothing, guess how much you're getting paid. You need to take the proper action and set goals for yourself. Just because you are at your home, you must still treat your work as a business and realize that you will get out of it, what you put in. Putting in the right amount of work each day is very important to generating new leads for your business, which in turn will grow it

In short, find your niche - if you're a writer, go for the articles (blogging is very similar to article marketing). If you've got some extra cash you can invest, PPC is definitely the way to go - set a limit per day on how much you will spend (most hosting sites allow you to have a pre-set limitation on your funding). But whatever you do, do it consistently and persistently. Remember this - people join other people, not just opportunities, so if you act the part of a go-getter, and talk the part of a go-getter, people are going to want to be a part of what YOU are doing
