subject: Maruti Ertiga Driven And Reviewed [print this page] We have recently driven the Maruti Ertiga, and we have not been surprised at all. However, keep in mind that not being surprised is not always a bad thing. In many cases, you will get exactly what you expect from a car, and this is what happened to use when we took the Maruti Ertiga for a test drive. Therefore, we will here try to present this car in the exact same way we experienced it. Namely, the Ertiga seems to be a nice enough car, but it has the same number of good and bad points attached to it. For everything we liked on it, we managed to find something we didn't like. So, we will here talk about the plus sides as well as the drawbacks related to this vehicle.
The Things You Will Like about This Car
The Ertiga is a well-priced car, especially if you go for the one powered by the petrol engine. Taking into account that it is officially a 7-seat MPV, we can say that it is very reasonably priced. Aside from this, the car is very easy and enjoyable to drive, both on the city streets and on the highway. It is very flexible when it comes to seating and luggage arrangement, which makes this car very practical in many different situations. Also, all the engines are economical, especially the diesel variants. Even though it is more expensive, the diesel engine will definitely pay off in the long run when you take fuel economy into account.
The Things You Will Not Like about This Car
First of all, this car is not a standard 7-seat MPV. Yes, it does have seven seats, but the third row can only be used for short trips as it has very limited head and leg room. Also, when all of the seats are taken, the 135-liter luggage capacity is a real drawback. What's more, even the second row of seats could benefit greatly from more room for passengers, and this should never be the case with a 7-seat MPV. The build quality could have been much better, as the cheap-looking plastic details often feel very low-quality.
The Verdict
In a nutshell, the Maruti Ertiga is not the best or the most luxurious MPV you will have a chance to drive, but it is very far from being the worst. So, if you need a reasonably priced car with seven seats, then this car is not a bad choice at all.
