subject: I Found Yet Another Superb Brisbane Swimming Pool [print this page]

I received an invitation recently from another old school friend. It was for a backyard bbq and I was pleased to turn up, for I do love to catch up with old acquaintances. What the invitation didnt mention was that Robert and his family had just lately put in yet one more amazing Brisbane pool.

The new pool seriously enlivened a nice yet formerly plain backyard which sloped smoothly down in the direction of a Jacaranda lined street. Considerable landscape design supported the installation, with a comprehensive revitalisation of the block in fact. A number of rock feature walls were built, and on top of each the flattened terrace areas afforded the restructured backyard a much steeper feeling overall, yet offered a number of individual, flat zones, which could be utilized for both recreation and planting.

The majority of the new plantings actually were native plant varieties; there were a good selection of small grevilleas , their bright and distinctively shaped blooms attracting a variety of wild birds to their leaves. Tree ferns, monsteras and birds of paradise crouched gracefully underneath the few more substantial trees down the blocks boundaries.

Not only was the pool itself sunk into the terrain, but the actual walkways and paved areas around that Brisbane pool were also lowered and flanked with very well made rock walls. The rock employed was a well jointed slate, which had quite flat facets for the most part, and a blend of fantastic dark grey colouring with some iron stained yellows and reds as well. The walls looked constructed in the Irish fashion with quite deep pointing of an inch or so and the sloped faces leaning outward. Darkish coloured mortar was adopted for all of the stone walls which certainly did give a stunning effect indeed.

The swimming pool itself was constructed of fibreglass and tiled down to the water line. A robust recirculating system had been put in and Robert told me that it made the cleaning a great deal simpler. He also added that three kids, all prepared to do their share of the work, had cut his labour almost to nothing. A hot spa pool had been sited close by in the protection of a chunkily constructed gazebo and whilst I didnt give it a shot, I took the familys word for it that the hot water was in fact fantastic during the cooler days of the short Brisbane winter season.

Unsurprisingly the pool installation was actually a speedier task as compared to the landscaping and the stone wall development which followed it. I surely couldnt fault the pool installation , it seemed sound, well designed and similarly effectively installed. It was absolutely ideal for swimming in, being heated, and deep enough to safely utilize the durable spring board which stood at the the wider end.

Thus, another great Brisbane pool adorns the foothills within the western suburbs, and certainly one which I will doubtless be traveling to once in a while.
