Maha Kumbh Mela 2013 is going to be held at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of organising the Kumbh Mela is to remember the struggle between the Gods and Demons over the amrita. It is believed that during the battle, Lord Vishnu flew away with the amrita, drops from which spilled over Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik. Kumbh Mela is held four times every twelve years and is organised in rotation among four places where drops of the sacred nectar spilled over: Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashik. In Nashik it is held on the banks of the River Godavari, River Ganga in Haridwar, River Shipra in Ujjain and the confluence of the three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, India.

This time the big grand Mela will be organised at Allahabad. Allahabad is a city of Uttar Pradesh known actually as the meeting point of the three holy rivers. The three rivers GANGA, YAMUNA and invisible SARASWATI Rivers merge at this land and so it is called as SANGAMmeaning the meeting point.The combined sanctity of the three holy rivers, coupled with the spiritual powers obtained from the pot of nectar of immortality has earned Tirtharaja. The confluence of India's three most sacred rivers at Allahabad, Besides the Ganges, there are also two other sacred rivers located at Allahabad, the Yamuna and the Saraswati. Ganges &Yamuna has its earthly origin in the Himalayas. Whereas Saraswati, is a mystical river which has no physical form. It is believed that the Saraswati exists only on the spiritual plane and is not visible to the human eye.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2013, Allahabad will be a large occasion involving thousands of pilgrims from not only the country but across the whole world. People of India have such devotion those mens, womens, childrens; people irrespective of their caste, their economic background come at Maha Kumbh Mela. The devotees take bath early morning and they have the firm believe that by this bath in Sangam at the Maha Kumbh Mela their sins will be washed out.
