subject: Summer Has Arrived But Are You Feeling Body Confident? [print this page]

The sun has well and truly had it's hat on for the past week in the UK at long last! Its been so refreshing to see so many people out and about being more active and overall happier too. It's amazing the effect that a bit of Vit D has on the majority of our general well being.

As the summer sunshine so seldom visits us for prolonged periods in the UK, the minute it does, us Brits flock to the beaches. But are you ready to reveal your bikini body? Are you happy with the way you look? Do you feel body confident? How do you feel when you wear skimpy clothes, do you feel nervous, anxious or vulnerable? If you do, then you can change this.

The mistake many make is not to Exercise Bike through the winter in preparation for the summer but instead, see the sun, think quick fix and take drastic measures to lose weight or crash diet to see results. But this doesnt always work, and if it does, it is seldom sustainable.

So if you are looking for a quick fix, you need to allow yourself a minimum of 4 weeks to see results and be prepared to change something and work hard! The first thing you need is the desire you have to have the desire to get there.

It is important that you fuel your body properly otherwise you will lack energy and feel tired and the workout you do will be counter productive. Lean protein meals like chicken or egg salads will help to burn fat away. Cutting out all convenience and processed foods, sugary cakes and biscuits and alcohol and replacing these with smoothies, fruit salads, nuts for snacking on, grilled or BBQ food - this time of year BBQ food is so easy to prepare and a much healthier option (and less mess in the kitchen too!). And, remember also to drink plenty of water too, if its too bland, squeeze some fresh lemon or lime juice into it.

Now for the exercise part. Oh no I hear you groan. So we are not all fortunate enough that we enjoy working out, but nowadays there is so much Fitness Equipment to choose from on the market today that there is something to suit everyone. Combine your cardio with toning exercises using resistance (weight or bodyweight). Movements using all the big muscle groups like squats, lunges and push ups will help you to burn fat. Make sure that your cardio workouts are varied, so rather than pounding the treadmill for hours on end, mix it up with some intervals, you need to raise that heart rate. Above all dont over complicate things a workout need only be 30-45 minutes long if you are doing them 3-4 times a week.

Powerplate If you really cannot bear the thought of working out for this long, then the Power Plate could be an option for you. 10 minute sessions is all you need - the newest model, the my7 comes with an integrated Personal Trainer so will even tell you what to do!

Now get yourself to the shops, buy that new bikini and hit the beach feeling body confident and dont forget the sunscreen!
