subject: Honda Seat Frames And More! [print this page]

When it comes to Honda Ruckus parts, one of the questions I get is about the frames on the Ruckus. One of the unique things that makes the Ruckus look so original is the fact that it uses three different frames. This radical departure is what makes the Ruckus what it is. So lets take a look at what is available.

When you look at the differences between the Honda Ruckus and a regular scooter when you view both without any body panels on them, you start to see a major difference right away. Most scooter frames are one piece from the steering neck to the tail of the bike. The Ruckus, on the other hand, is three separate pieces; the front stamped aluminum frame, the rear frame, and then the seat frame. This radical departure really makes the Ruckus look like a bike that was pieced together rather than bought.

To modify or change this frame you would have to carry the VIN to the new frame, which can be a legal nightmare or so much of a hassle to deal with it wouldnt be worth it. They are out there, though. The stamped aluminum frame can also be very weak and is evidenced when ridden with a more powerful engine or far more powerful front brake system. A modification made to strengthen the front frame is the chin bone, which is a piece of tube that is attached to the neck of the front frame and the front cross bar for the rear frame. It can make a very big difference in the bikes stability, if it is a well built bar.

The rear frame is where the motor is actually carried by the
