What is CEAs RES Examination

RES (Real Estate Salesperson) examination is a real estate licensed course of CEAs (Council for Estate Agencies). According to the Estate Agents Act, 2010, it is compulsory for every individual, who is not holding the license and working as a real estate agent, must be registered with the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA), though the estate agent under which he/she is working.

Registration and Examination

Every individual, who wants to apply for RES examination, first he/she must register his/her self with the CEA (Council for Estate Agencies). Candidates must have to register for and attempt the RES examination within 2 years of the date of issuance of the certificate. If the candidate do not pass the RES exam within the 2 years timeframe, then it is necessary to re-take the real estate license course again before registering for the exam. It is also essential for them to undergo and pass the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) exam. Candidates, who successfully pass the exam, must apply for registration/ licensing with CEA with in 24 months of the issuance of the examination, otherwise their results would be invalid for licensing and registration purpose.

Required Qualification

The candidates must have the minimum qualification of 4 GCE O level to take the RES examination or he/she must have equivalent qualification to 4 GCE O level such as:

Bachelor of Science (Real Estate)

Bachelor of Science (Estate Management)

Bachelor of Real Estate (Property Management)

Bachelor of Real Estate (Valuation)

Diploma in Building Real Estate Management

Diploma in Real Estate Business

Diploma in Property Development & Facilities Management

Diploma in Building & Property Management

Candidates who are holding qualification in non-real estate fields such as business administration, marketing, law, economics etc. are also able to take the RES examination.
