If you have just been to one recently or you are going to an event shortly, keep an eye out for the amount of advertising that you see, once you start looking you will not be able to stop, it is on every bit of free space available, it almost becomes a game, hunt the free space!
With all the available space being used, prices begin to rise, as supply and demand pushes the prices up. While this is good for the event provider it is not so good for the advertiser, unless you are a large corporate with thousands to spend.
So for companies that do not have thousands to spend and have a stand or pitch at a large event I thought I'd give you a way to advertise at events that does not cost the earth. You can do this by creating advertising space that wasn't at the event before you arrived.
Event Flagpoles
This simple but very effective type of eye catching event branding can be used internally or externally and can be as tall at 5 metres (not that many of us would need that for internal events). Get you own flag printed with your brand and logo and you are done. The best thing about this type of advertising is that it costs less than most adverts of a similar size at these events and you can use it over and over again at no extra cost.
They are easily moved so if your pitch or stand has someone else's pitch or stand next to it, you can simply move the flagpole. This may not sound that great, but if you just spent several hundreds of pounds on a pop-up marquee with branding on the sides and when you turn up to the event you find that the pitches on both sides of you have done the same thing. The money you spent and the branding you've had done on your new marquee is pointless as no-one will get to see it.
These are just some of the reasons why event flagpoles are the best form of marketing at large events.
