What is FFL?

Applicant should be 21 years old and above
No record of being convicted of felony, with one year sentence or under indictment
No records of being a fugitive from the law
No records of violating the Gun Control Act and the regulations it specifies
Should be a legal citizen of U.S.
Should not have any record of unlawful use of any controlled substance
Should not be an individual who has been dishonorably discharged from service
Should not have any mental illness
Should not have renounced citizenship
Should not be a convict or has any record of domestic violence
How will your eligibility be checked?
The FFL application forms. It would require you to specify personal information and a lot of other details. It is important to be honest in answering the forms because any inaccuracy may lead to denial of application. An extensive background check will also be performed before approval may be granted.
What are the basic requirements for FFL?
Applicants of FFL should have a recognized place of business if FFL is for buying, selling or providing other services which involves firearms and ammunition. The establishment has to be open to public too. It is also necessary to implement a strict security system. The firearms and ammunitions must also be in a secure storage compartment, even for enthusiasts or hobbyists.
What are the binding regulations when FFL has been filed?
While the FFL is still being processed, there are certain limitations that the applicant needs to follow. Those are:
Applicant should ensure that the business establishment is not being questioned, prohibited or hindered by the state or local law. The establishment should comply with the Local Zoning Ordinances and Home Owners Association regulations, if this is applicable
State and local law requirements should be met before the business commences
The chief law enforcement officer has to be initially informed through a formal notification which also states that the FFL license is being processed.
