The multicultural city of Northern India is the city of Lucknow. The city flourished and emerged as a full grown artistic and cultural center of Northern India in the eighteenth and the nineteenth century.Today, the city is the largest as well as the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city has progressed rapidly in the past few decades and has grown to be known as one of the urbanized cities of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The city has well developed and well managed rail, road and air transport and travelling routes. The city has Hindi as its official language but Urdu is also one of the prominent languages of the city. The city has been home to many major rulers and emperors and till date the city is also known as the city of Nawabs.Not just this, the significant city has also been named as the Golden city of East and also the Constantinople of India.

The city has a sound economy and has many small, medium and large scale firms and companies. The city is home to and also center of commerce, finance, pharmacy, aerospace, technology, design, culture, tourism, music and poetry. The city also the political and administrative center of the Uttar Pradesh. The state has emerged as hub for IT and ITES industries which also include software, BPOs and electronics.

The city is also an exporter of marble products,textiles,handicrafts,art pieces,jems and jewelry ,textiles ,electronics,software,computer,hardware and software,apparel,brass work,silk,leather and leather goods, glass items, art metal and chemicals. In the last few decades the city has founded many world renowned instructions and other educational institutes, which include a number of better schools, colleges and universities. The city takes pride in administering seven Universities, one technical university, a large number of polytechnic institutes.

Some of the well known institutes and research academies of the city include, IIM Lucknow (Indian Institute of Management Lucknow), Central Drug Research Institute, Industrial Technology Research Center, Central Food Technological Research Institute, National Botanical Research Institute, Glass Research Institute,Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and King George Medical College.

The schools in the city are located near the residential locations and have lush green and fresh environment. The schools here are either affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or with the ICSE Board. Most of the schools have English as the medium of instruction but some schools also use Hindi and Urdu as the medium of instruction.

The schools in the city have come a long way as the schools here have impressive infrastructure and a student friendly school environment. The small children going to the nurseries and play schools get a home like and safe environment for studies and education. Almost all the schools in the city provide the transport facility to the students and have organized and modern techniques for the school and students safety measures. The schools of India are changing and have left no stone unturned to bring the best education system in the Indian education system.
