subject: Enjoy Your Summer Long Drives With Summer Tires [print this page]

The onset of the summer season makes everybody worried. As they need to find a way out of the scorching heat of the sun so that they and their possessions do not get burnt in it.

Same is the story of the car owners as extra care needs to be taken to protect the tires from getting torn. Normal tires are especially at a greater risk as they are unable to withstand the scorching heat and end up getting frail and torn.

However, the summer tires can withstand the burning sun for a lot longer duration. They are especially designed to bear with the sun when it is at its peak .These tires can be driven when the temperature is at its peak as their structure and material allows them to withstand grater amount of heat and maintain their shape.

The summer tires are made out of rubber which is softer than ordinary rubber. It is due to this soft rubber that one finds riding on the roads during hot summers a lot more fun.

The four season tires bare no comparison with the summer tires when it comes to withstanding the mounting heat of the summers. They perform quite poorly in hot and humid weather. So with your car having the summer tires you better say good luck to the sun.

The summer tires soft rubber material enhances their ability of braking. As the rubber keeps on softening, the tires increase in their grip and hence make it easier to apply the brakes. Their braking ability is further aggravated due to the lesser tread markings on them.

Along with providing convenience and protection in hot weather, the summer tires also prove to be really economical for you. You need not replace your tires again and again in summer which saves you a lot of money and hassle. They make it easier for you to travel in the scorching heat without making you stop time after time to check out your tires and hence make your journey convenient and tension free.

One thing to be made clear is that because these tires are specially designed to withstand extreme heat, this means that they are more prone to damage. The soft rubber is subject to greater wear and tear and hence the need to be driven safely. Do not attempt to skid your car or perform cool stunts if you want the tires to last longer.

Hence, the summer tires need to be regularly checked up and observed. Make sure the tires are checked out and maintained on a monthly basis. Also remember to see them especially when you have had a long drive on a rugged area. In case you sense something wrong with them, quickly replace them to avoid getting them flat in the scorching sun. It will be a nightmare if you find yourself with a flat tire in the burning heat and had to replace it in that situation.
