After you have submitted the correct numbers or words in the picture, you will see a notification from Gmail saying that your password-resetting link has been send to your recovery email.
In case you have forgotten the login credentials of your recovery email address or your do not have any recovery email, you need to wait for 24 hours. Do not attempt to log into your account in these 24 hours. Please note that the 24-hour time slot begins from your last login attempt.
After 24 hours, you need to visit the Gmail login page again. From there, go to the password recovery page. Now, submit your username and submit the numbers of words written in CAPTCHA.
