subject: A Dream Has Come True For An Asus Tablet [print this page] Motivation I have long been waiting for an Android Tablet (and specifically the Infinity). Practically, the Asus appears here primarily by the dock. 64GB storage capacity for me to store documents and photos very useful, and not oversized (my tablet to go serve in part as a picture-tank). What I now needed was an Android Tablet with adequate resolution (which makes it at 10 inches depending on the intended use quite a big difference). The Acer A700 is not an option for various reasons (shape / weight, no keyboard, problems with stability and performance).
Other approaches, such as the announced Microsoft Surface Tablet seen only at first glance, suitable from (I can imagine for example, not how to use the Surface sensible when dealing with its flexible keyboard and the problem of gravity-conditions on the lap will lay). The Asus Infinity offers at least on paper, everything. . Whether this proves true in practice, will be explained below housing and processing real problems with processing are not identifiable: the housing is massive (no creaking of the border, good ground clearance flush fastening).
Because the Asus some very specific processing weaknesses are discussed, I have particularly looked at the edge of the display precisely, here the measure is different actually in two places (near the buttons for on / off and volume) from very easy to say the black plastic rim rises here a little further out. The body shape of the tablet in my opinion is out a little sharp, ie it is in the border area is not necessarily a flatterer (but is really "action at a very high level"). I chose the "gold" version. The case is rather kupfer-/champagnerfarben than gold (looks very elegant, the flavors are different, of course). But. This color is much less prone to fingerprints than the gray variant (which is of course also more metallic purple) The Dock bears a sticker with the name "Eee Pad TF201 Mobile Dock", seems to be identical with that of the Prime . Some of the reported color differences between the dock and I was on my Tablet gold version seen nothing but (possibly also with the color here is not as problematic as "purple").
I think the golden version sees the combination of plastic strips and textured metal back very pleasing and harmonious despite plastic part off. At first I did me some hard time to unfold, the combination of tablet and dock, because there never an intervention or small tab is provided. It is not enough to lift the lid only, because then the dock with lifts, ie in this case must first develop a certain finger technique to unfold and adherence. Therefore, the combination includes very tired (but not flush with the edges). At least until the holder for the tablet is so stable that the touch screen is also in the dock without a lot of wobbling, or risk of upsetting can be served.
