There are those who think, I don't understand that.
Are we paying attention to the voices within each of us, that comes from us? I don't think that generally we do. We are looking and listening for some being to inform us of what we are already aware of. We are so accustomed to feeling powerless that we dont believe that our knowledge can come from the Supreme Being.
Have we become too busy asking that we're forgetting to stop and listen to ourselves?
Is this our job?
Are our expectations reasonable?
Generally, Ive found insights that come from spirit to be much gentler, hard to hear, and very plain, almost invisible. However, when we read other peoples experiences and feel that if that isnt happening to us, then we assume there must be something wrong.
It doesn't work that way. Not all of us will recognize the same signs, hear in the same way, and it would be ridiculous to expect otherwise. At the Universal Life Church Seminary, it's our goal to help every minister, as best as we can, to be able to listen their own inner voice.
We need to begin to trust our own gut feelings, and to recognize that, what we see, hear, and sense is right for us. That each of us, does experience things differently and we should not think that if we are not receiving the "signs" like another that we arent getting signs" at all.
It is important to start each day, and complete each day, with an affirmation.
In many ways, the human brain is similar to a computer, and just as a computer can be programmed to run in certain ways, so can the human brain. Our brains have to be programmed in a different way than a computer, but there still is a way of getting it done.
Lets take one basic unhelpful tape and remove it. Lets say you have said, over and over, I cant see an aura. Now to get rid of that program, you need to change that to, I can see auras. Repeating it once is one vote against the negative program. But what if you were to write it down on a piece of paper? One more positive vote. Now every time that you read those words, that is one positive vote. But what if you read them out loud? You would get one plus vote for seeing the words, another one for saying them out loud and still another one for hearing yourself say it! So if you wrote them down fifty times, there are 50 votes. Now read them all aloud and there is another 150 votes. With consistent attention to detail, you would soon overcome that bad program and replace it with a positive program.
You can do the same thing no matter how entrenched the negative programming may be. Just be aware that with some of these negative programs, you may have cast far more than a thousand negative votes. Does that mean youre crazy? Hardly - and your case is not without hope; it just means that you have a bigger challenge to overcome. Getting ordained online is 1 positive step towards that goal.
