. Nursing students must take and pass certification exam after completing CNA training to gain their license.

In order to sit for NNAAP exam in Illinois a student must meet following requirement:

Must be at least 16 years old or above

Must pass police background check

Should have high school diploma or GED or its equivalent.

Must complete a Nurse Aide Training Program approved by Illinois Department of public Health.

Must pass drug and skin test.

Must provide a report of physical fitness

One, who completes these requirements, is eligible to take the nurse aide licensure examination. The confirmation letters are sent to students postal address mentioned on their application forms around 10 days before the date of examination. If your letter is not sent to you a week before test date, you can go to the examination website and check registration.

Before going to take the certification exam, you must have 2 lead pencils with eraser and a photo id that has your current picture with signature and the ID proof can be your driving license, state ID or student ID. Further, students are not allowed to bring notes and guides with them in examination center.

IL CNA licensure exam contains both written and clinical nursing skill test and both sections of certification exam must be qualified by students to obtain the nurse aide certification.

Students must take and pass the licensure test within two year of their training completion. In between these two years students are allowed to take the certification exam three times and if a student fails in one portion of the exam, he is required to take the exam of that particular portion only, but those who dont qualify both parts of assessment, need to take the whole exam once again. If within two years, if a student does not pass the exam after attempting for three times, they must take nurse aide training again. And after completing CNA program one more time he can take and pass certification exam once again.
