subject: Aerosmith Tickets - Best-selling American Rock Band Tours In Support Of Their Fifteenth Album [print this page]

One of the best-selling, longest touring, and greatest American rock bands, Aerosmith, is back on the road to support their fifteenth album. Probably the greatest asset of this band is that it was able to stick together throughout several decades starting in the1970s and remain one of the top rock bands in the country and in the world. And although some bands tend to change their musical styles to go with the times, Aerosmith has continued to maintain their own dedication to blues-based hard rock, the music that made them stars in the first place. Now that their latest album, Music from Another Dimension, is about to drop, the band is back to doing what they do best. Even with Steven Tyler's gig as host of American Idol, he still has time to create timeless rock music and sell out Aerosmith tickets to concert venues across the country and the world.

Formation & Road to Fame

Unlike some bands that form between school friends, Aerosmith had a completely different beginning. Two bands from the 1960s eventually joined together to form what is now Aerosmith. Chain Reaction - formerly The Strangers - was the band that Steven Tyler formed in New Hampshire in 1964. Around the same time, later members of Aerosmith were in a band called Jam Band led by Joe Perry. Both bands performed at the same venue, Jam Band having three of the future band mates of Aerosmith, and there was immediate interest from Tyler to form one cohesive band. The bands met up a second time in 1970 and that is when the two bands truly considered joining the two bands as one. But before they could form, Tyler had his own prerequisites: he would not be a drummer for the newly formed band.

The band's drummer, Joey Kramer, came up with the name Aerosmith which ultimately became the band's permanent name. Together, Aerosmith began performing in various venues in Massachusetts and quickly had a following in Boston. It only took Aerosmith two years to get signed to a label, Columbia Records, and release their self-titled debut album in 1972. The band was an instant success, though only locally and not yet nationally. Both their debut album and follow-up album, Get Your Wings, were multi-platinum successes. But it wasn't until 1976 when they released Toys in the Attic that they gained mainstream success and finally had a following across the country.

The "Blue Army" was what loyal fans of Aerosmith were called because they were so dedicated to the band. By the early 1980s, Aerosmith was one of the most well-known and popular rock bands in the world. The band continued to create albums that were adored by fans worldwide and never waned from the formula that made them famous.

Now on their fifteenth album, Aerosmith hopes to continue gathering more rock fans and offer longtime loyal fans more great music. Music from Another Dimension has been a long time coming and fans have been anticipating the album for some time. Aerosmith will start their summer tour in Virginia, then New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, and other U.S. states before moving internationally.
