subject: The Most Interesting Restaurants In Chicago [print this page]

Want to move to exciting and fun-filled Chicago? This city has been termed as the hub of jazz and blues music, or music lover's paradise. It is also a perfect place for sports fans, but there is yet another dimension to the popularity of Chicago restaurants! If you lived here, how would your weekend be complete without digging into some delicious cuisines and lip-smacking dishes? Chicago has some unusual and stylish restaurants for you to enjoy.

Take a look at some of the most interesting restaurants in Chicago:

Alinea

Regulars have described Alinea in the following way: if Bobby Flay's Bar American were a Coach bag, then the Alinea would be a one-of-a-kind alligator Hermes Birkin! The popularity of this restaurant has grown with each passing year, thanks to the efforts of Grant Achatz and his incredible team. When you enter Alinea, you will be served with more than 20 dishes whose taste is simply out of the world! In fact, the dishes have been described as plates of magic. When served to you, each dish contains some complicated instructions along with it. Can you imagine powdered Iberico ham, a ravioli flavor bomb of truffle emulsion, lemon soda powder, lots of liquid nitrogen, and also a dish that you chew up and then spit out? The dining experience here is bound to remain in your memory forever and will be cherished by you lifelong! Alinea is referred to as the Holy Grail of Cuisine, A Museum of Food, and by many other names.

Pressure Billiards & Caf

If you would like to enjoy yourself while eating and socializing, then Pressure Billiards & Caf is a perfect place for you. The eatery is designed like a pool parlor cum caf and if you are a patron, you can enjoy cheese fries and lattes while playing in pool at the same time. The reason why this place is hit is because it is an all round entertainment zone - it hosts music, art, and comedy shows, and also features matches on large flat-screen TV's. Wireless internet access is also provided. The place is packed on all days and especially weekends!

The Violet Hour

There is a huge demand for seating here so that no reservations are accepted here! In order to get a seat here, you need to be an extremely determined patron so that you can get in and enjoy the hotspot. It is truly meant for the crme of the crme! The dcor is amazing with wonderful furniture in a contemporary style. The long, brightly-lit bar and tall-backed chairs around the circular tables provide an ideal setting for guests to enjoy cocktails and drinks. However, there are some rules and regulations that need to be maintained - mobile phones are not allowed here, only the best and most elegant cocktails are served here, and there is a strict dress code.

San Soo Gab San

What makes this restaurant stand out from the others is that you are allowed to cook your very own meal at your table! Yes thats right you can make your own Korean Barbeque Grill. All the ingredients will be provided on your table along with spices and flavors to create your version of barbeque. This concept is a favorite among both young and old people, which is why this restaurant is visited by hordes of people and is packed during weekends.

Signature Room at the 95th

The ultimate location for the perfect date is how the Signature Room at the 95th can be described in a single sentence. A lot of that is to be attributed to the amazing view of the Chicago skyline that is visible from inside (a 360 degrees view). What better way to spend a day with your special someone than to watch the sunset over the high rises while munching on sumptuous evening snacks? If you are coming here later in the evening, you will be able to listen to soothing tunes belted out by a pianist while sipping on a mojito. Do ensure that you dont suffer from vertigo because this restaurant is located on the 95th floor!

Ed Debevic

If you are willing to keep an open mind and enjoy yourself, then Ed Debevic's is a must for you. This diner is extremely popular among those who love gimmicky stuff. The dcor is done in 1950s style including paper hats and retro outfits. Throughout the day, music from the 50s era is played here. The food is not outstanding; in fact it is typical of what you can expect in a diner, although the milkshake is amazing. The unique feature of this diner is the rude and obnoxious waitresses that hurl verbal assaults at you in 50s style! They will speak rudely, literally bang the plates on your table, complain about tips, which is why you need to keep a free mind and sense of humor to enjoy the experience. There is an added attraction a photobooth where you can take black and white strip pictures.
