Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, which has a single cell or a cell cluster or has no cell at all. It is mainly a study of the immune system. Microbiology also includes virology,mycology,parasitology,bacteriology,immunology and other branches.

Microbiological procedures use variety of tools such as light microscopes. The ligt microscopes are the combination of stains and dyes. The commonly used dyes are called as basic dyes. There are two types of basic dyes. They are simple stains and differential stains.Specific constraints apply to particular fields of microbiology, such as parasitology, which heavily utilizes the light microscopy, whereas microscopy's utility in bacteriology is limited due to the similarity is many cells physiology. Indeed, most means of differentiating bacteria is based on growth or biochemical reactions. Virology has very little need for light microscopes, relying on almost entirely molecular means. Mycology relies on all technologies the most evenly, from macroscopy to molecular techniques.

Benifits:

Whilst there are undoubtedly some who fear all microbes due to the association of some microbes with various human illnesses, many microbes are also responsible for numerous beneficial processes such as industrial fermentation (e.g. the production of alcohol, vinegar and dairy products), antibiotic production and as vehicles for cloning in more complex organisms such as plants. Scientists have also exploited their knowledge of microbes to produce biotechnologically important enzymes such as Taq polymerase, reporter genes for use in other genetic systems and novel molecular biology techniques such as the yeast two-hybrid system.

Bacteria can be used for the industrial production of amino acids. Corynebacterium glutamicum is one of the most important bacterial species with an annual production of more than two million tons of amino acids, mainly L-glutamate and L-lysine.

Recent research has suggested that microorganisms could be useful in the treatment of cancer. Various strains of non-pathogenic clostridia can infiltrate and replicate within solid tumors. Clostridial vectors can be safely administered and their potential to deliver therapeutic proteins has been demonstrated in a variety of preclinical models.

Educational Requirements For Microbiology:

To become a microbiologist, a person needs to complete a bachelor's degree program in microbiology. These programs introduce students to concepts in bioinformatics, virology and immunology. Microbiology students also take laboratory courses to see first hand how microorganisms react to different stimuli and behave in different environments. Graduates may work in the pharmaceutical, agricultural or food production industries.

Students interested in conducting high-level research projects or taking on more complicated work may need a Master of Science or Ph.D. in Microbiology or a subfield like bacteriology. Students in these programs often gain specialized knowledge though advanced studies. Additionally, many students are responsible for planning and conducting research experiments on topics in their respective fields of study. Upon graduation, these professionals may find employment with government agencies, university research departments and private laboratories.
